RING Chair
Nana Ditzel, 1958

Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel began working for the industrial cabinetmaker Poul Kold in Kerteminde in 1954,
a collaboration that lasted for many years and resulted in a wide range of furniture,
including the expressive Ring Chair.

The Kold company produced furniture in a more industrial way than traditional cabinet shops, which prompted Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel to explore new design directions. The Ring chair is the result of this effort.

The large circular padded backrest offers the seated person a multitude of possible positions.

To reduce transportation costs, the chair was originally designed to be packed flat, so the seat, backrest and legs could be separated.

This is no longer the case, as the chair is now delivered in one piece.
