First out: Tones
design Clàudia Valsells
The Tones collection, made up of 4 rugs created by the artist and painter Clàudia Valsells, is entirely focused on color.
Each brings a distinctive, harmonious, rhythmic and sensitive touch, where color occupies the foreground. Their design invites the carpet to live, to make it occupy the center of the room, rather than simply accompanying it.
The collection presents an infinite wealth of shades, enhancing the chromatic harmony reminiscent of musical notes. For the artist, the transition from her usual medium of paint to the nuances and textures of fibers and wool was a very interesting challenge.
Clàudia Valsells has once again shown a great mastery of colors, this time surprising us on the new medium that is the car

design Clàudia Valsells
La collection Tones, composée de 4 tapis créés par l’artiste-peintre Clàudia Valsells, est entièrement tournée vers la couleur.
Chacun apporte une touche distinctive, harmonieuse, rythmée et sensible, où la couleur occupe le premier plan. Leur design invite à vivre le tapis, à lui faire occuper le centre de la pièce, plutôt qu’à en être simple accompagnant.
La collection présente une richesse infinie de nuances, mettant en valeur l'harmonie chromatique rappelant les notes de musique. Pour l'artiste, le passage de son médium habituel de la peinture aux nuances et textures des fibres et de la laine a constitué un défi très intéressant.
Clàudia Valsells a encore une fois fait preuve d'une grande maîtrise des couleurs, cette fois en nous surprenant sur le nouveau médium qu'est le tapis.

Clàudia Valsells
Clàudia Valsells (1969) began as a mural painter, in 1992 she left to study mural painting at the Institut Supérieur de Peinture Van Der Kelen et Logelain in Brussels, to evolve as a colorist and finally as an artist where painting and color are her vehicles of expression. Currently, the Alzueta Gallery in Barcelona represents her nationally and internationally.
She combines her work as an artist with that of a colorist in the fields of architecture and interior design.

Clàudia Valsells (1969) a débuté comme peintre muraliste, en 1992 elle part étudier la peinture murale à l'Institut Supérieur de Peinture Van Der Kelen et Logelain à Bruxelles, pour évoluer comme coloriste et enfin comme artiste où la peinture et la couleur sont ses véhicules d'expression. Actuellement, la galerie Alzueta à Barcelone la représente au niveau national et international.
Elle combine son travail d'artiste avec celui de coloriste dans les domaines de l'architecture et de la décoration d'intérieur.

Crazy, dreamlike and full of humor, like a party: this is the 2022 Troupe collection by Jaime Hayon. The imaginary universe of the artist is highlighted to perfection in this medium.
Troupe is a hand-tufted rug, making it possible to best transpose the work of Jaime Hayon, and to act like a real painting created from a blank canvas. It is a contemporary piece that preserves and brings to life a thousand-year-old cultural heritage, while bearing the unique stamp of the craftsmen who make it.
It's a rug that speaks of friends, children, freedom of spirit and spontaneity. Animals of all shapes and sizes float through space, strangers to boredom. A one-of-a-kind flock available in four sizes in a balanced and harmonious color palette.
The hand tufting technique requires a gun-like tool to puncture the fibers in a fabric that has been stretched beforehand into a frame. To start the process, the threads are punched in the areas marked by the mapping - a way to transfer the desired design to the carpet backing. The threads are then cut and shaved to achieve the desired pile height.
The drawing is contoured with scissors or a needle in order to correctly define the different areas of the pattern. Once the pattern is set, a layer of latex is applied to the backing of the rug to ensure that the strands stay attached to the structure. Finally, a layer of fabric is applied to act as a lining, providing a quality finish. This technique, in addition to offering freedom of creation, is a guarantee of a carpet of quality, high density and durability.

Troupe !
design Jaime Hayon
Folle, onirique et pleine d'humour, comme une fête : telle est la collection 2022 Troupe de Jaime Hayon. L'univers imaginaire de l'artiste est mis en valeur à la perfection dans ce médium.
Troupe est un tapis tufté à la main, permettant de transposer au mieux le travail de Jaime Hayon, et d’agir comme un véritable tableau créé à partir d’une toile vierge. C'est une pièce contemporaine qui préserve et fait vivre un héritage culturel millénaire, tout en portant le cachet unique des artisans qui la fabriquent.
C’est un tapis qui parle d'amis, d'enfants, de liberté d'esprit et de spontanéité. Des animaux de toutes sortes et de toutes tailles flottent dans l'espace, étrangers à l'ennui. Un troupeau unique en son genre disponible en quatre tailles dans une palette de couleurs équilibrée et harmonieuse.
La technique du tuftage à la main nécessite un outil semblable à un pistolet pour perforer les fibres dans un tissu préalablement étiré dans un cadre. Pour démarrer le processus, les fils sont poinçonnés dans les zones marquées par le mapping - un moyen de transférer le design souhaité sur le support du tapis. Les fils sont ensuite coupés et rasés pour obtenir la hauteur de poils souhaitée.
Le dessin est contourné avec des ciseaux ou une aiguille afin de définir correctement les différentes zones du motif. Une fois le motif défini, une couche de latex est appliquée sur l'envers du tapis pour s'assurer que les brins restent attachés à la structure. Pour finir, une couche de tissu est apposée pour faire office de doublure, offrant une finition de qualité. Cette technique, en plus d’offrir une liberté de création, est gage d’un tapis de qualité, de haute densité et de durabilité.

Jaime Hayon
Born in Madrid in 1974, Jaime Hayón has one of the most glittering careers in recent contemporary design. Although trained in Madrid, he forged his reputation at Fabrica, the creative breeding ground run by Benetton near the Italian city of Treviso. Arriving in 1997, at the young age of 24, Hayón worked for Oliviero Toscani, who would soon place him in charge of the design department. It was at Fabrica that Hayón first worked with BD on the Mail Me project. In 2004, he decided to branch out on his own, settling in Barcelona and working on a number of projects while also exhibiting his more personal work in art galleries. The exhibition “Mediterranean Digital Baroque”, at London’s David Gill Gallery, and the bathroom collection he designed for ArtQuitect marked the start of his meteoric international rise.

Jaime Hayon
Né à Madrid en 1974, Jaime Hayón a l'une des carrières les plus brillantes du design contemporain. Bien que formé à Madrid, il s'est forgé une réputation auprès de Fabrica, la source créative gérée par Benetton, près de la ville italienne de Trévise. Arrivé en 1997, à l'âge de 24 ans, Hayón travailla pour Oliviero Toscani, qui le nommera vite responsable du département de design. C'est à La Fabrica que Hayón a travaillé pour la première fois avec BD sur le projet Mail Me.
En 2004, il a décidé de se diversifier, de s’installer à Barcelone et de travailler sur plusieurs projets tout en exposant son travail plus personnel dans des galeries d’art. L’exposition «Mediterranean Digital Baroque», à la galerie David Gill de Londres, et la collection de salles de bains qu’il a conçues pour ArtQuitect ont marqué le début de son ascension fulgurante à l’international.
